My genius roomate
I solemnly swear that I am not kidding about a single one of the following facts. Also, it's absolutely soul-crushing living with him considering how I'm dropping out of college after this semester.
- He's currently working on a PhD in Physics and a major in Math at the same time.
- He doesn't use pen and paper when doing his homework, he literally just stares at the screen for a bit and then types the answer in the homework software my university uses. Keep in mind this guy is doing VERY advanced math.
- He has not taken less than 20 credit hours until this semester, when he lowered it to 16.
- He was born in China and transferred to my college from one of the single most respected universities nationally, and one of the top in the world.
- He joined the army to get U.S. citizenship through MAVNI (Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest), and served for a number of years, including a 6-month deployment in Egypt.
- He passed airborne infantry training.
- He flew Blackhawk helicopters.
- He passed the RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) piano level 10 examination.
- He has a weekend job programming Battlefield. The video game. Just as a hobby.
- He learned programming from a thousands-page long book on C++.
- He reads Chinese translations of Shakespeare for fun.
- He's 22.
- He's planning to go to med school after all of this.
