Taking a walk alone at night

This marks the first time I've ever taken a walk alone at night, or actually a walk alone any time ever. All my friends are busy doing something else, so I was stuck in my dorm room with nothing to do on a Friday night. Which was a little sad, but it feels less sad if I get myself moving for some reason, so I went on a walk around campus.

I left my room a little before sunset, so I saw the sky do that gradation into orange, purple then dark while I was out and about.

While I was walking around in the light, I was just bored. But strolling in the dark, I had a light nagging feeling that it would've been better if I had someone to walk with. I'm not scared of the dark or anything, but it just feels extra lonesome when there's no one around, not even strangers, and everything's half in the dark.

I also think that, if two people were to walk together in the dark, they would be able to bond more easily than in a daylight walk. It would just feels like you need each other more. You realize that it's just good to have a person around, regardless of who they are (unless they're genuinely disagreeable to be around, of course, but that's an exception).

But then couples going on evening strolls started popping up, which made me feel really weird being by myself. So I went back to my dorm.
